Have your cake and eat it

Today I’m writing about cake….specifically cupcakes. Okay, so this blog won’t be going into the healthy eating category for sure. It does however provide a gluten free cupcake substitute. It’s also a recommendation if you are a host to a gluten free guest and you’re thinking “What can I serve to a gluten free guest?”

I was recently invited to a family birthday…whilst everyone tucked into their generous helpings of sumptuous looking fresh cream sponge cake, I was pleasantly surprised to receive a cupcake (well, six cupcakes!).

These were the pack of six Free From Red Velvet Cupcakes by Asda.

I had tried their red velvet sponge cake last year but found it rather dry. The cupcakes didn’t suffer from being dry as their ratio of frosting to sponge is far higher.

The decorative touches also make them extremely presentable- perfect for a gluten free afternoon tea.
